James Kayongo shows off one of the test papers

As week from today, our Education magazine will feature a four-page revision pullout for those preparing for their primary leaving examinations at the end of the year.

For the last two years, we have featured test questions prepared by SIPRO, but after some persistent requests from other suppliers, we will be making a change to welcome Modern PLE Revision pullout.

This particular pullout is published by Tendo Printers and Stationers, who are based at Nasser road in Kampala. According to the managing director of Tendo Printers and Stationers, James Kayongo, they retain a team of experienced teachers from various primary schools, who prepare the tests.

“These teachers have studied the entire breadth of the school syllabus and are working to produce tests that will help the pupils prepare properly for the PLE,” she said.

However, Kayongo was quick to add that the revision tests were intended to help with preparation for the final exams set by the Uganda National Examinations Board (Uneb).

“These are not the final exams as set by Uneb … they are only intended to help pupils prepare for the finals, sometime in November,” he added.

Modern PLE Revision tests will run in The Observer, every Monday, from next week until the end of October. While The Observer will run snippets of the tests, Kayongo says they have prepared revision test booklets, with extensive material that parents can purchase for their own use.

“However, the questions we are publishing in The Observer are not in our booklets, they have been set aside for newspaper; so, continue buying your paper every Monday to get extra revision material,” he said.

Apart from revision materials, Tendo Printers and Stationers also produce regular-size exercise books, A5 notebooks and drawing books to help with handwriting and artwork.
